The 21st World Conference of Accountant, also referred to as the Olympics of Accountants was held in India

The 21st World Conference of Accountant, also referred to as the Olympics of Accountants was held in India, as it has proven to be the fastest growing country economically in recent years.

It is an IFAC led conference, organized by the institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

The ICAI is the second largest Association of Accountants in the world with 350,000 members.

The theme about sustainability, ethics, SMEs reporting, technology, Education and Audit, & Assurance standards, and digitisation of the treasury and cash management functions.

LACPA was one of over 100 members from IFAC who participated in this event which had more than 9,000 Participants.

The LACPA representatives met with many parties at this conference. The main list includes: The President and Deputy President of IFAC, The President and Deputy President of ICAI, The Deputy President and the Director General of FIDEF, as well as Past Presidents and Board members of ICAI, and Many officials of IFAC in charge of ETHICS, IPSAS, EDUCATION, and Others.

All expressed enthusiasm for seeing LACPA participating in the Conference. They expressed support and are looking forward to being invited to events and a Conference organized by LACPA in 2023.

The FIDEF team send their best regards to the President of LACPA and the 4 delegates that they met with at the FIDEF event few weeks ago.

It is a very interesting conference and a learning framework about where the world is going. One speaker says this is not a profession that we worry about its future, because this is the profession of the future!.

Sustainability, Ethics, Anti-Corruption, IPSAS compliance are among the main topics mentioned at the IFAC Council General Assembly Meeting that took place on November 15.

Candidates that LACPA elected for the IFAC Council, all succeeded in wining the election.

The new concepts mentioned above are a big challenge for the profession to deal with.

LACPA can play a big role in learning and training these concepts.

LACPA is welcome to comply with membership rules and proceed to be part of the changing world by its CPAs.

LACPA delegation did well in paving the way for LACPA to correct its situation with the IFAC and to jump on the board of all new opportunities that presented themselves in the most difficult times.

The delegation Ms. Nagham GHAITH, Mr. Tony Semaan, and Gina Chammas, thank the board of LACPA and President Afif Charara for their trust in appointing them for such mission.

And the delegation will do its utmost to serve LACPA and its members and protect their interests.
